I am interested in the relationships between mental and physical structures, in particular souvenir objects obtained as reminders of events, places and journeys. I believe this stems from a childhood passion of collecting sew on badges from each family vacation, which were subsequently sewn onto my coat sleeve like trophies. I am captivated by the notion that memories of a whole event can be encapsulated into these objects.

The vintage souvenir objects I collect determine the materials and processes in each project to form a body of work. Familiar objects become distorted by the process before being arranged into new conceptual pieces.

The subject matter for my work is consistent, engaging themes of human interaction with place and object over periods of time. My work becomes a perpetual treasure hunt to build an ever-increasing anthology of memories.
